General Description

The Field Operations Coordinator is responsible for cultivating business relationships throughout the retail field organization.  They ensure customers are provided with the products, tools, and information needed to successfully operate their retail business and exceed consumer expectations. The Field Operations Coordinator will travel extensively to partner stores and assist the store teams with the full product life cycle while providing value feedback to the buying and planning teams.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary FLC point of contact for assigned Barnes & Noble College (BNC) bookstores within a given geographic area
  • Conduct on site store support visits at BNC operated bookstores
  • Assist with receiving, restocking, and merchandising functions while visiting BNC operated bookstores  
  • Provide BNC store teams the information and tools relative to product and marketing execution
  • Play an active role in the planning and execution of onsite activations
  • Cultivate authentic business relationships with BNC operated bookstores and partner institutions
  • Support and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.  
  • Communicate with teammates at all levels of the company.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience
  • An understanding of the retail industry
  • Excellent project management skills with an attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively in an academic and corporate setting
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work across many different areas of the company.
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Position is remote and requires 75% travel
  • Northeast-Mid Atlantic Market, Southern US Market, Midwest Market, Western US Market
