Operating out of Indianapolis, IN, our retail stores offer officially licensed headwear and apparel from collegiate and professional sports teams, plus top brands like Nike, New Era, Adidas, and Mitchell & Ness.

We currently operate 1,200+ locations domestically and 50+ internationally, including specialty concept stores for the NBA, NHL, Paris Saint-Germain, and numerous MLB teams. In recent years, Lids has built partnerships with iconic global brands including Marvel, Playboy, and the Harlem Globetrotters, and gained ambassadors like Justin Jefferson, Quavo, and Josephine Skriver – creating a community for both sports fans and fashion lovers.

The company is currently expanding with the goal of becoming the largest licensed brick-and-mortar sports retailer across the globe.

General Position Summary

Lids is looking for a Head of Sales and Operations to oversee and develop our store teams across Europe for current brands (Lids, NBA, PSG) as well as potential future brands and projects. This person will be responsible for driving the sales team to beat top and bottom-line targets, ensure operational excellence, and drive our international expansion strategy across Europe.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee store sales teams and coach District Sales Managers to meet or exceed Sales, KPIs and Profitability targets. Monitor and achieve physical store performance goals. Drive adjustments to strategies and tactics as necessary to achieve goals.
• Define and executes physical store strategy in alignment with overall strategy and priorities. Ensure strategy translates to regional strategies and vice-versa
• Develop and implement operational standards, policies, and procedures, execute transactions efficiently and effectively, and assist in the operation of retail stores across Europe as well as training the team and following up on operational KPIs
• Cross-collaborate with Head Office UK team
  • Head of EU, on P&L targets, direction & vision
  • Buying team to maximize stores’ commerciality
  • Construction & Facility manager, to ensure stores have a strong look & feel and customer experience
  • Head of Marketing to align and capitalize on key and local moments
  • Head of VM to ensure top notch presentation in store
• Create and maintain a realistic Succession Plan. Anticipate the needs of the region and Company, while strategizing to prepare for all scenarios

Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitors and enhances employee engagement across all stores and develops strategies and tactics to address opportunities and issues.
• Develop and drive international expansion strategy which would include recommending countries, cities and specific locations for expansion team to investigate in real estate opportunities
• Manage P&L for a portfolio of Lids brands, including Paris Saint-Germain, Lids,  Lids Locker Room, Lids Hat Drop, and additional special projects.
• Other P&L responsibilities include analyzing and managing travel/meeting/maintenance and repairs/supplies expenses. In addition, they will maintain and foster a culture of excellence, professional execution, exemplary ethics, inspire and exhibit a sense of urgency and productive collaboration.
• Lead workforce & labor management for the brand implementing a road map for the brand to continuously improve effectiveness in labor planning, scheduling and simplify the processes at the store level through use of technology or process enhancement.
