General Position Summary

The Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Functional Expert is responsible for hands-on configuration of Dynamics 365 F&SCM ERP modules. This role will provide functional knowledge, liaison with business partners to understand needs, explore alternatives in D365, and ultimately implement the solution.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and configuration of Dynamics 365 Finance modules, including AP, AR, GL, Treasury Automation, Tax, and Cost Accounting
  • Apply working knowledge of SCM modules—Inventory, Advanced Warehouse, Procurement, Sales & Marketing—to support improved business processes
  • Partner with stakeholders to own and deliver all functional design documentation, including requirements, process flows, solution design, security updates, decisions, and open issues
  • Follow Microsoft D365 F&SCM roadmap and stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging features in Dynamics 365 Finance
  • Conduct detailed gap analysis and recommend solutions to meet business needs
  • Perform system testing, data migration, and end-user training to ensure successful deployments
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance to stakeholders on process improvements and system optimizations
  • Communicate effectively with all organizational levels, ensuring clarity and alignment with the business
  • Provide deep domain expertise in finance modules to finance personnel at the organization and scrum team
  • Leads requirements analysis, solution design as the product owner identifies backlog items and grooms them with the business teams 
  • Identify risks or gaps in feature knowledge early in process that may cause timing delays for Functional design period and/or outsourcing for additional expertise 
  • Collaborate with the technical team (architect and developers) and testing team to ensure the test strategy is sound and documented well 
  • Work with Product Owner to build visual diagrams of the overall solution to promote transparency amongst the team 
  • Facilitate conversations with the technical team to support TDD creation and development efforts 
  • Follow up on any questions the technical team has during the hand-off from functional team to technical team during SDLC process 
  • Think through downstream & cross functional implications of features and bring risks to the product owner and technical architect during the design process 
  • Facilitate UAT review and demonstrate functionality to business stakeholders to ensure alignment and approval of new features
  • Design bug solutions as assigned by product owner and coordinate with technical team to deliver solutions as assigned by product owner 
  • Coordinate with similar role on other squads amongst the IT department to ensure aligned practices within squads 
  • Develop a written document for feature release to production that includes strategy of any data migration, configuration updates, and solution validation and support to ensure a smooth rollout of feature in Production
  • Ensure delivered solutions adhere to best practices and standards
  • Contribute to backlog refinement and prioritization with technical insights
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development within the team

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

•    Minimum of 3 years Dynamics 365 ERP (or earlier versions)
•    Minimum of 3 years Dynamics 365 ERP implementations experience
•    Minimum of 2 full lifecycle Dynamics 365 ERP implementations (Analysis through Deployment)
•    Minimum 5 years of industry and/or consulting experience
•    Certification in Dynamics 365 ERP module(s): Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate (MB-310)
•    Strong industry experience within all Finance modules
•    Exposure and interest in learning SCM modules
•    Working knowledge of industry specific best practices: Tax solutions, Cash and bank management, Accounts payable, financial reporting and consolidation, Accounts receivable, etc.
•    Excellent communication, planning and organization skills
•    Strong customer relationship skills
•    Ability to establish priorities and work independently
•    Bachelor’s Degree or higher
