Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide reliable source of ownership for our Business Intelligence and Reporting systems.
  2. Technical, strategic, tactical, operational responsibilities associated with the following BI and BI-related functional areas: 
    • Data preparation (sourcing, acquisition, integration)
    • Data warehousing
    • Reporting, analytics, data exploration
    • Information delivery (portals, mobile)
  3. Developing and maintaining ETL packages for the importing and organization of the BI data.
  4.  Ensuring the accuracy of data. 
  5. Working with Database Administrator(s) and Infrastructure Architect(s) to plan, design, configure, installing, and deploying BI databases.
  6. Work with Infrastructure Architect(s) to perform capacity planning and troubleshooting.
  7. Identifying data sources, constructing data decomposition diagrams, providing data flow diagrams and documenting the processes.
  8. Configure Business Intelligence and Reporting system effectively by implementing security filters and roles at the corporate, department and individual levels of the organization.
  9. Help to identify and connect additional data sources
  10. Help to identify and add additional data fields from existing data sources into the Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence system environment.
  11. Work with Business Analysts and other department leaders to translate business requirements into data models, develop / schedule ETLs, build data cubes and filtering, and validate results.
  12. Develop BI databases and systems that allow for the creation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Scorecards, and other reporting  necessary to create meaningful results that can be used by our department level managers in their daily workflow management
  13. Support already implemented Business Intelligence solutions by: monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring system performance and communicating functional and technical issues.
  14. Work with Database Administrator(s) to ensure necessary application updates, service releases and hotfixes are applied to the Business Intelligence / Reporting systems.
  15. Work with Database Administrator(s) on performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting and optimization of the BI databases and associated systems.
  16. Collaborating with related IT teams to test and implement system changes.
  17. Participating in change control activities.
  18. Creating and maintaining documentation such as operational information, installation procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and knowledge-base information.
  19. Expanding technical knowledge of the systems and tools utilized by the Lids IT
  20. Supporting and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  21. Managing the goals and objectives established with the supervisor.
  22. Communicating with employees at all levels of the company.
  23. Other duties as assigned.
Job Required Knowledge & Skills
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  2. Five or more years of business experience in moderate to large-sized corporate environments.
  3. Five or more years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or higher.
  4. Strong working knowledge of the retail and distribution industry and its functions including the following areas:  Finance, Retail Sales, Manufacturing, Purchase Order Entry, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, and Merchandising.
  5. Extensive database system knowledge, database theory, database security, database design, capacity planning, performance analysis, and change management.
  6. Proven track record in areas of Microsoft SQL Server 
  7.  Extensive expertise in data modeling, both logical and physical.
  8.  Experience in multidimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, denormalized models, handling “slow-changing” dimensions/attributes.
  9. Experience in and understanding of a wide variety of analytical processes (governance, measurement, etc.).
  10.  Experience with agile software development.
  11. A solid understanding of key BI trends.
  12. Knowledge of database tuning, capacity management, and resource forecasting.
  13. Awareness of project management requirements.
  14.  Ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies, and track and measure results.
  15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence or persuade others in positive or negative circumstances.
  16. Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to learn from other associates. Ability to manage tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.

Bachelor's Level Degree in Computer Science or Other
