Manager, Global Human Resources

General Summary: The Global Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading a full range of human resources activities in accordance with the organization’s strategic goals, values, and legal requirements for all non-US HR operations. This position will be responsible and accountable for International HR programs, policies, practices, and legal compliance, such as, performance management, employment agreements, offer letters, training programs and other duties as assigned internationally. The ideal candidate will have had experience in opening locations internationally, preferably in retail.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Acts as subject matter expert in all functional areas of HR for all employees and leaders located internationally.
  2. Identifies opportunities and partners with Business Leaders to develop solutions that support and address business needs.
  3. Oversees and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all global personnel.
  4. Develops and assists with the implementation of human resource programs for all foreign entities with a concentration on host-country labor law and legal issues.
  5. Responsible for implementation of international assignment agreements, hiring of local nationals outside the United States and handling expatriate tax issues.
  6. Creates partnerships with Country Store Leaders (Store Managers/District Managers/General Managers)
  7. Coordinates with International Payroll Provider
  8. Provides timely responses to employees who have HR related questions, and works with Payroll, Benefits, Onboarding, and other HR functions to obtain the required information to resolve the request. 
  9. Responds to employee relations issues such as employee inquiries, complaints, and harassment allegations.
  10. Coaches, counsels, and guides managers before the execution of employee disciplinary actions.
  11. Serves as the designated expert on the interpretation of human resource policies issues for expatriates.
  12. Ensures compliance by staying abreast of changes in the industry, laws, and regulations; reviews and updates employment policies and record keeping as necessary.
  13. Authors and organizes training systems procedural manuals and supporting documentation for training programs and systems in accordance with organizational and local requirement.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, international relations, or other business-related field or an equivalent amount of experience and training
  2. Five or more years of experience in International Human Resources
  3. Bilingual in French or German preferred
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally in a clear, audible, and grammatically correct manner primarily over the phone and through email.
  5. Ability to build effective working relationships with remote business partners; ability to work closely with people of diverse cultures or backgrounds.
  6. Proven ability to work independently, manage one’s time and complete multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  7. Meticulous organizational skills necessary to document detailed information, prioritize workload, meet deadlines and goals, and provide timely resolutions.
  8. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  2. Ability to be on call varying days and hours, based on business needs
  3. This position requires up to 20% international travel
  4. Ability and willingness to travel overnight for training and/or business meetings
