General Position Summary

The Network Administrator position is responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting the successful operation of all Internet Service Provider networks and related systems at Lids.  The goal is to create a robust and fault free environment for PC and POS communication in both the wired and Wi-Fi areas of Lids stores. 

Along with the stable operation of the Lids’ System the position is also responsible for the research and the setting of a forward-looking plan. As a member of the Network Team, the Network Administrator will participate in group technology discussions, keep management abreast of project statuses and be part of an on-call rotation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the operational uptime of the Internet connect at stores.
  • Create and maintain a high quality for ISP service at all Lids locations.
  • Order circuits, track lead times and coordinate installations with project timelines.
  • Organize and audit circuit invoices.
  • Work with IT management to propose, agree and deliver IT services to a defined corporate Service Level Agreement.
  • Manage vendor relationships as necessary.
  • Participating in the development of business resource training, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Associates or other Degree in an Information Technology related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, design and manage Internet Service Providers.
  • Possess a technical understanding of networks, broadband, wifi, cellular and telco circuits.
  • Possess a sharp learning spirit, being able to keep abreast of the latest industry developments and the development of modern technologies and IT practices.
  • General understanding of project management methodologies and requirements.
  • Ability to manage tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to learn from other associates.
  • Genuine commitment to customer service.
  • Solid understanding of the importance of adherence to compliance requirements
  • Expert problem solving and analytical skills
