General Position Summary

This position will assist with the tax reporting functions and compliance needs for business licensing for our Lids retail stores throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Must be comfortable working in excel with large volumes of data. This position requires strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee business license renewals and tracking current certificates
  • Manage business license notices received in the mail
  • Follow up with jurisdictions via email or phone call related to store licenses
  • Ability to update and maintain business license tracker for all open stores
  • Assists in initial business license applications for new store set up
  • Responsible for tracking payments made related to renewals as it relates to monthly reconciliations  
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Tax Manager
  • Coordinating with AP on check payments that need to be cut for business license payment

Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 1-2 years of relevant accounting or tax experience
  • Advanced computer skills to include Excel, Word, and D365
  • Excellent communication skills to include active listening and the ability to meet the needs of all audiences
  • Demonstrated time-management and multi-tasking skills coupled with a keen ability to prioritize assignments
  • Excellent ability to take direction and be organized
  • Quick learner in regard to established systems and processes
  • Advanced organizational and verbal/written communication skills
