General Position Summary
Lids is seeking an experienced tax accountant to join our team. This position will be responsible for helping with month end accounting amongst our different business entities. This includes international entities and international accounting. Additional responsibilities will include being general tax compliance, income tax estimates and potential credits, assist on state and local tax examination matters, and be involved, as requested, in special projects.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly tax account reconciliations within the general ledger
- Carry out the month end close processes in a timely and accurate manner
- Processing tax payments to appropriate agencies
- Calculate the quarterly income tax estimates, year-end extension, ensure payments are made in a timely manner
- Interact with auditors on tax related matters
- Assisting with the preparation of the VAT sales tax return for international entities
- Transfer pricing and other cross border tax reporting requirements
- Keep current on relevant tax legislation
- Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve cash flow
- Advise business about the tax implications of operational activities
- Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work
- Other functions and projects as assigned
Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Job Required Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 2-4 years of combined tax and accounting experience in a private, public, or government environment
- CPA is a plus but not required
- Ability to research state tax issues and provide recommendation
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in Dynamics 365 and/or tax return software is a plus
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
