General Position Summary

As the Product Operations Manager, you will work in partnership with the District Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our merchandise department. You are responsible for executing the store’s product strategy, including product operations and inventory management. You manage all back of house (BOH) operations and ensure that the floor and BOH are well stocked and organized to support sell through. You support the VM Manager in merchandising processes from planning through execution to meet company expectations, KPIs, and timelines. In this role, you help foster a fun, inclusive, and collaborative environment while delivering exceptional customer service through product management and deep expertise in Lids’ offerings.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

People & Training 

  • Engage team members by creating a fun and productive environment, including helping them understand how their work supports company objectives through inventory management and the success of the store and Lids overall. 
  • Contribute to a respectful and inclusive team environment by establishing supportive working relationships and adhering to Lids Brand Standards (e.g. company dress code, etc.) 
  • Participate in LIDS Training Programs, adhere to set goals (for sales and tasks) and regular follow up. 
  • Assist in recruiting and training store personnel on proper store and product operations, as well as visual merchandising foundations and principles.
  • Encourage store associates’ direct compliance of established company policies, procedures and guidelines including (but not limited to) safekeeping of company inventory, funds and property. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Customer Experience 

  • Lead, execute and assist GAME Day selling strategy to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), sales targets, and deliver exceptional customer service. 
  • Resolve customer feedback and address issues in the moment, including customer escalations, urgent requests, and resolve to “make it right” for customers. 
  • Ensure every customer is offered the opportunity to participate in Lids’ membership programs or special offers when live in-store through employee education. 
  • Adhere to current visual guidelines including proper merchandising, signage and store cleanliness. 
  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with Company Dress Code Policy. 

Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Operations

  • Execute company directives, promotions, and initiatives.
  • Adhere to Policies & Procedures Manual for a safe work environment.
  • Maintain store technology and equipment through audits, updates, and repairs.
  • Manage store facilities, supplies, and services by handling service requests and repairs.
  • Manage cash accurately, including till operations and bank drops.
  • Prepare for and support inventory audits.
  • Open and close the store following procedures.

Product & Inventory Management

  • Protect company assets per LIDS Retail policies.
  • Assist in scheduling to ensure proper store coverage within wage guidelines.
  • Manage inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, and price changes.
  • Organize the backroom for efficiency.
  • Lead inventory processing and accuracy activities per SOPs.
  • Execute visual merchandising and product presentation strategies.
  • Monitor product levels and support sell-through strategy.
  • Analyze business data to inform actions and recommendations.
  • Balance team schedules with store needs.
  • Maintain store appearance through daily VM and actions.
  • Adjust pricing signage and promotional presentations to align with sell-through strategy.

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus one year relative experience. 
  • Established ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally in a clear professional manner. 
  • Ability to operate a computer, as well as maneuver relative software programs. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work with hands overhead. 
  • Standing required for up to 100% of the work time. 
  • Ability to work unsupervised.

For New York-based roles: Annual pay ranges may fall between $29,536 - $60,405.80. You may also be offered a bonus, and other benefits.
